3M Not Comin To Libby

In Nov of 1991,a big heading covered the Libby local paper saying,Good News for Libby,Jobs,Jobs,Jobs, specially after the WR Grace shut down in 1990.Sure,it was great news at the time and most of the town was thrilled to hopfully go back to work.The news was that the 3M Corporation was comin to town and wanted to buy the mine site and use the asbestos to make catalatic converters.Oh,years of work,good payin jobs.EXCEPT for one thing.ME.I was against this 3M comin to Libby to continue the deadly exposure on a new generation of workers,just as those workers before them, at this deadly site.I was not as educated then as I am now but in 1990,I began to learn the truth and I knew that this was wrong.You also need to understand that the price for speaking out about anything in Libby,is a life of hell but I was already on my way to hell when I began to speak out as the more I learned about this deadly asbestos and those who allowed people to be exposed instead of warning them or stopping them from exposure.I spoke out against 3M and I wrote a letter to the editor denouncing 3M and the reasons for my concerns.Something must of happened because 3M decided to back out of buying the mine site and coming to Libby.I'm sure they must of read my letter.Alot of people were mad at me but in time they too saw the truth.Even thou I got no thanks,I didn't need any because I knew then and now that many lives were saved from a deadly exposure, hopefully from the letter and concern I had.And I continued to speak out right up to this writing and I shall continue till I die, saving people by telling them the truth.Stay away from Libby Mt as Libby is not safe.That's all it takes...God Bless...
