To All Concerned:
I would like to submit an idea I have to resolve the issues of Libby and to seek fair and just compensation to all, suffering and dieing from asbestos exposure in Libby. I also want to remind you that the State of Montana also needs to be held accountable for their failure to warn, inform and protect its citizens from something that will kill us, as it is today. I do feel that Montana must make things right and not wait for Government and Corporations to settle their differences. Many continue to die waiting for that judgment day. It’s been over 5 years now. This is so humanly wrong. Here is what I had in mind. • First, as we know, there are billions sitting somewhere that has been collecting interest for five years now in bankruptcy. It has only benefited the Corporations who have made money while we wait to be compensated for our pain and suffering. The answer to where and how to finance Libby’s care is there. Take it or borrow from it. • For the people of Libby I would like to see, 1 to 5 Billion dollars put into a high interest account to finance this Fairness Bill. • .People of Libby who have been diagnosed with Mesotheeleomia, living and dead would be awarded $1,000.000.00 cash. • People of Libby who await “wrongful death” compensation would be awarded $1,000,000.00 cash • People of Libby diagnosed with asbestosis and all asbestos related diseases would be awarded $500.000.00 cash. There would be an option to this award by the victim where the victim can choose to take the $500,000.00 cash or the victim can take $ 250,000.00 cash and set up a monthly payment plan of $2,000.00 cash per month till death. • People of Libby must have full medical and health coverage once diagnosed, until death. No money from award would be used to pay medical bills. Because many of us can not work, $2,000.00 per month cash would at least pay the bills and ease the strain of living on $800.00 and less per month on SSI. The fact that, people diagnosed with asbestosis, from Libby have a short life span. Many don’t live longer than 10 years after diagnosed. This Fairness bill would be just and fair to all who will suffer and die from this deadly exposure to asbestos. This will also insure that my children will be taken care of after I am gone. This bill will affect thousands of people from Libby for generations to come who also will need taken care of. I feel this is a good idea to resolve to long awaited compensation many have died waiting for. The sooner the better is needed to end this endless wait. I hope this idea can be used as time is not on many of our side. Libby and its people deserve only the best for what they have been through and will continue to go through for many years to come. Thank you for your time and concern in this matter and I hope that all within Montana will do what is best for Libby and the people. Let me know if my idea sounds good to you?
Sincerely
Michael Crill
