Dear Editor,
I am one of a few former Libby residents following the issues regarding the City and County Government, as these are the leaders making the decisions that affect every citizen in Libby and Lincoln County, some of which will have lifelong impact.
Mr. DC Orr apparently has taken a firm stand on what he believes is best for the community he has chosen to spend his life in and subsequently serve. EPA/CAG notes report Orr?s (and others’ )tireless efforts, for which he has received no personal benefit. The questions Orr poses seem to be on point, and necessary to sift through the complexities Libby is currently faced with. There is a steady thread of concerns from him regarding health, land protection, and economic protection for the area.
The disrespect between the leadership is stunning. A county commissioner and mayor involving themselves in this type of thing publicly is also revelatory. Self indulgent, but on the business side, inefficient and expensive. Are the taxpayers willingly paying for this type of thing? Hopefully someone besides Orr will seek a quick resolution.
I cannot find any community questions or service relative to the city clerk referenced, and I am guessing the city clerk’s job description requires providing answers and documentation as requested in a timely manner without any drama.
Further, there appears to be a lack of accountability and information from leadership that potentially affects the community on a number of levels. It is a little surprising more people aren’t challenging the community issues Orr has succinctly raised.
Sincerely,
Michelle Hartly 310-562-9608 michelle@skyride.net
